Casa Parker, Certificate of Occupancy issued 2008 by City of Piedmont, occupied to present, enjoyed by Parker family, friends and guests. Our Casa designed by Vicky Barbieri, Architect/Owner of The Heritage Group, Inc, Glendale, CA, interior designs, paint colors, lighting fixtures, tile patterns, and materials by Laura DiSarli, Designer, The Heritage Group, and built by Juan Calva Contractors.

We wanted and achieved the look and feel of the wonderful architectural styles of Tuscany and Bologna, Italy. My recollection…exterior stucco, hand rubbed, Venetian technique to create hairline fissures in the stucco resulted in an ultra smooth finish, with a burnished look. The Venetian technique applied by Sabinel Bancu of Sacramento, a highly regarded plasterer, mason, and master precast stone designer. Sabinel also designed and made the retaining wall stone caps. Arizona Stone, exterior stone veneers. Portico covered main entrance begins Italian red clay tiles, friends, guests come to our front door protected on hot sunny days, remain dry on rainy days. Exterior column supports made from precast sandstone, portico interior roof elements built from hand sanded/stained grade A Redwood and Cedar. The formal living room ceiling, the entry ceiling, the eaves, soffit, and fascia all a continuation of the portico design, hand sanded/stained Redwood and Cedar.

Step up ring the doorbell, front door of solid Brazilian Mahogany, stained glass, and wrought iron built by Avalon Door Company of San Diego invite. The front entry, beckons, but see the areas above and surrounding living room fireplace tiled with Turkish mosaic granite stones, also the large living room fireplace equipped with a blower and oil reserve provides scented air throughout, now climb six steps up to the main floor, and notice a wonderful design of tiled granite and lime stone. Six spacious exterior decks located to the master bedroom, dining room, family room, main entry, lower two bedrooms, and office provide ample morning sun, afternoon shade, forested views, all embraced by fragrant vines and plants. The doors solid composite from Millennium Doors, Emtek hardware oil rubbed bronze finish, wood windows from Marvin Windows. Most public spaces and bedrooms separately wired for high fidelity sound with cable.

The heart of our house, a commodious kitchen of brown walnut Omega Cabinets, self-closing drawers, large enough storage for cook or chef, a wonderfully capable Thermador stove/oven, Kitchen Aid appliances, refrigerator, dishwasher, combination wall oven, microwave, and warming drawer. Inviting spacious center island, starry granite accommodate family, friends who cheer on the chef, help the cook, or act as sous-chefs. Dine formal, eat al fresco, go casual, study/read, drink-in the quiet. And we build lots of additional space for parking, garage storage, wine collecting, landscape materials, seasonal items, groceries, and sports supplies.
